The Bonney Lake boys soccer team picked up a pair of wins last week with an overtime win against Auburn Mountainview and high-scoring victory over Lakes.
Tyler John scored the first goal against the Lions in the 11th minute wqith an assist by Jacob Bohl, but Auburn Mountainview tied it in the 27th minute.
The score stayed that way through the game’s end, and the match went into overtime tied 1-1. In the extra set, Zach Jones put one through unassisted to give the Panthers the two points for an overtime victory.
It was an easier afternoon on April 18, however, when the Panthers opened the scoring early and never looked back as the Panthers blasted their way to a 9-0 win at Lakes.
Brody Fitzsimmons got the first of his two goals – both off assists from Jonah Phillips, in the eighth minute. It was quickly followed by a score from Bohl off John before Fitzsimmons put in his second in the 13th minute.
Nick Douglas scored next for the Panthers, in the 20th minute with the assist going to Colton Tracy. John got a goal of his own in the 29th minute with an assist from Suilanji Silozi, followed 10 minutes later by Jones with an assist from Tracy.
Jones then picked up an assist of his own as Silozi picked up a goal in the 44th minute.
The Panthers came out kicking again the second half with Jacob Bohl picking up a goal off an assist by Fitzsimmons in the 46th minute and then adding a ninth notch to the tally in the 76th minute with a goal from Brady Thomas, assist by Tracy.
Through it all, keeper Jake Leuders kept the Lakes Lancers off the scoreboard.
The win brings the Panthers record to 6-3-4, with a 3-2-3 record in the South Puget Sound League 3A.
The Panthers were scheduled to play at Enumclaw Tuesday.
