The following are some events scheduled throughout the Bonney Lake and Sumner area for the next week.

Saturday, May 3

Mystery authors Jeanne Matthews, Susan Schreyer and Lisa Stowe will be at the Sumner Library from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 3.

Join the three authors for lively conversation and a Q&A.

Aside from the conversation, there will be a 45 minute writing workshop for those interested in writing mysteries.

The authors will provide advice and writing prompts to get you started.

This event is free and geared toward an adult audience.

The event is sponsored by The Friends of the Sumner Library and the Sumner Arts Commission.

Monday, May 5

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, the Sumner Senior Center is hosting a party from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

The party will include a fiesta lunch and music from DJ George Hollis.

The Bonney Lake Senior Center will also be hosting a party starting at 10 a.m.

It costs $6 per person and a Mexican feast will be provided.

There will also be a salsa contest for people to compete against city staff.
