Honk if you love trucks! Pierce County’s Parks and Recreation Services department will roll out the big-rigs on Saturday so kids of all ages can get a fun, hands-on experience at no cost. The sixth annual Touch-A-Truck event takes place Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Sprinker Recreation Center just north of Spanaway.
Touch-A-Truck is designed to give kids (and the young at heart) a chance to get an up-close and personal look at a variety of trucks, military and construction vehicles, fire engines, command center vehicles, public safety equipment, and more. Kids are encouraged to touch and climb on all of the vehicles and honk horns while learning more about what each mighty machine does in the community.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. The period from 12 to 1 p.m. is designated a ‘no horns’ time for sensory-sensitive children. Parking is available at Sprinker Recreation Center, located at 14824 S. C St. in Tacoma.
The event will take place rain or shine. T-shirts will be on sale for $8. For more information visit their website.
