Two gymnasts from Bonney Lake High and two Sumner Spartans cracked the top 10 in all-around competition during a Dec. 15 meet in the Spartans’ gymnasium.
Visiting teams did the bulk of the scoring as Puyallup High took team honors with a total score of 160 points and the Decatur Gators were second with 147.8. Bonney Lake was third with 139.10 and Sumner finished with 122.9.
Bonney Lake’s Kelsey Wells-Henderson was fourth in the all-around and Mallory Zimbelman was ninth. Wells-Henderson scored 8.2 on the beam, 8.15 in the vault, 7.4 in the floor exercise and 6.9 on the bars. Zimbelman had an 8.1 on the beam, 7.95 in the vault, 7.2 in the floor exercise and 6.3 on the bars.
Sumner High’s top all-arounder was Aja Ruswick, who placed eighth. She scored 8.2 on the beam, 7.8 in the vault, 7.7 in the floor exercise and 6.1 on the bars. Taking 10th place in the all-around was Sumner’s Dayna Devereaux, who had a 7.9 in the vault, 7.6 in the floor exercise, 7.1 on the beam and 6.6 on the bars.
