Bonney Lake Elementary celebrates 50 years with open house

The official ribbon cutting and open house is scheduled for 4 p.m. Nov. 16, to be followed by a dedication ceremony featuring a performance by the Viking Choir at 5:30 p.m.

Bonney Lake Elementary School is turning 50 years old this fall and to celebrate the district is throwing it a party.

Superintendent Craig Spencer and the Sumner School District Board of Directors are inviting the public to celebrate Bonney Lake Viking’s 50th Birthday at the newly-modernized Bonney Lake Elementary School, located at 18715 80th Street in Bonney Lake.

The official ribbon cutting and open house is scheduled for 4 p.m. Nov. 16, to be followed by a dedication ceremony featuring a performance by the Viking Choir at 5:30 p.m.

The district also looking for pictures from the past 50 years.

“To commemorate the school’s 50th birthday, the school is creating a digital photo album,” said principal Sandy Miller.

Anyone with photos from throughout Bonney Lake Elementary’s 50 years, is encouraged to bring them to the celebration on November 16 to be scanned for viewing later on the school Web page.

The New Bonney Lake Elementary School is part of the 2007 Capital Projects Bond:  Promises Made, Promises Kept!
