The Bonney Lake Panthers hosted the Auburn Mountainview Lions in a South Puget Sound League 3A matchup Friday.
Bonney Lake won its seventh game of the season beating the Lions 44-39.
The game started out slow for both teams with the first quarter coming to an end and the scored tied at seven.
Going into halftime, the Panthers led by one, 18-17.
The game remained close in the second half with Bonney Lake up 29-24 after three quarters.
In the fourth, both teams scored 15 points but it wasn’t enough for the Lions to catch up.
Senior forward Kayla Seger scored the game high 19 points for Bonney Lake.
The Panthers improved to 5-5 in conference play and 7-9 overall.
Bonney Lake’s next home game is 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 when the Panthers host the Enumclaw Hornets.
