A fire destroyed an office on the 14000 block of 16th Street East, in Sumner early Tuesday morning.
First reported as a warehouse fire just before 4 a.m., East Pierce Fire and Rescue crews arrived to find a mobile home completely engulfed in flames.
Initially, the firefighters were not sure if the mobile home was a residence. They later learned that it was used solely as an office.
Firefighters were able to save a large garage, personal vehicles and numerous semi-truck parts located close to the burning structure.
A fire engine from the Valley Regional Fire Authority and a Central Pierce Fire and Rescue ladder truck were also called to assist, but were canceled before they arrived.
Pierce County Fire Marshal Rod Lasher said the office and contents are a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
