IDENTITY THEFT, PRESCRIPTION FRAUD: On June 28, officers met with a woman who said her identity was being used to get a prescription for pain killers. The woman also told officers she suspected her mother. She learned of the prescription fraud when she went in for a checkup and the prescription was on her medical history. Officers provided her with a case number and gave advice on how to protect her identity in the future.
HIT AND RUN IN FRONT OF STATION: Officers were contacted in the department lobby about a hit and run on June 29. The reporting driver told officers he was driving the speed limit on Veterans Memorial Drive when the car behind him attempted to pass him by going into the shared center lane. The car then got back into the right lane but collided with the left front end of his car and sped off. Officers were contacted by the female driver of the other care later that day, telling officers that when he tried to pass the other driver, he sped up and wouldn’t let her back into the lane. Officers cited the female driver for a hit and run and inattentive driving.
