BURGLARY: At approximately 10:09 p.m. April 21 a resident reported her house in the 500 block of Kincaid Avenue had been burglarized. The resident reported when her family returned home they noticed approximately $230 in quarters missing along with a laptop missing from the living room. The point of entry seems to be an unsecured doggy door as all of the other doors and windows were secure. Upon further inspection by the residents it was also discovered a GPS system was also missing along with four knives used for hunting. There are no suspects at this time.
GUNSHOT: On April 18 at approximately 1:45 a.m. officers responded to the 15500 block of Garden Street for a report of a fight and gunshots in the area. A witness reported hearing someone yell, “I am going to kill you” and a gunshot. After some investigating, officers determined that there was an argument that ensued and a shot was fired which hit the tire of a vehicle. A subject was arrested and charged with assault/domestic violence, unlawful carrying of a firearm, malicious mischief and discharge of a firearm in the city limits and booked into jail.
VEHICLE PROWL: On April 16 at approximately 1:36 a.m. officers were dispatched to a vehicle prowl in progress at the corner of Cherry Avenue and Thompson Street. When officers arrived they found the vehicle as described by the reporting party with a subject exiting the passenger door of the vehicle. The officer detained the subject while another officer looked for the other suspect. When the officer searched the arrestee he located a crescent wrench, multi-purpose pocketknife and a marijuana pipe in the arrestee’s pocket along with a couple of knives and some change. The arrestee advised that he was homeless and the officer noted that he had slurred speech and smelled very strongly of intoxicants. The officer then heard the other officer advise by radio that he had a second subject in custody. The first subject was arrested and booked on charges of vehicle prowling, possessing vehicle-theft related tools, minor in possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The second subject was booked for vehicle prowling and minor in possession.
ALTERCATION: On April 14 at 2:30 p.m. a subject reported encountering a disorderly subject in the 1900 block of Main Street whom was possibly assaulted in the 1200 block of Valley Avenue. The incident seems to have been the result of a road rage incident in which one subject stayed at the location while another left the scene. The individual who left later returned to do some shopping, thinking the other party would be gone. The two met again and while passing each other in a store one subject did a shoulder bump to the other. The subject receiving the bump indicated he believed it was intentional. One subject was charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the fourth degree.
