A week into the new year and I still can’t get over how fast 2014 seemed to fly by.
So many exciting things happened last year, making me excited for the year ahead.
To top it off, some highlights from 2014 were the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl (duh!), I got engaged in June, my fiancee and I bought our first house and October marked my first year here at the Courier-Herald.
As every new year starts, so many people make resolutions (that they usually don’t keep for longer than a month).
This year, instead of making “resolutions” I am going to focus on a few specific goals I hope to accomplish and stick to in 2015.
An unofficial wedding date has been set, giving us some time to save money for our big day.
That is goal one. Along with getting in shape – aka, losing weight and being healthier.
Aside from that, we move in just a few days. And then we’ll have a house that is ours – which is a huge accomplishment but it also comes with a lot of responsibilities that we aren’t quite used to… yet.
As of right now, these are the big goals I have set for myself for 2015. Of course, there will smaller-scaled tasks to accomplish and stick with and throughout the next 12 months others will be added to my to do list.
These main goals I’ve set for myself may seem difficult to some and in fact, to me – they do sound a bit difficult to stick with for the next 365 days.
But having them will help keep me accountable and my fiancee and I will be better because of them.
I think that should be the main goal of any new year resolutions – aspire to do things that make you and those around you better.
I believe the new year is a way for everyone to take a step back, evaluate their lives and make the necessary adjustments.
I have a good feeling about this coming year but it takes work and it’s not always easy. We have to keep working every day to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves.
Happy New Year to all!
