East Pierce firefighters were dispatched at 5:22 p.m. to a report of a residential structure fire in the 4200 block of 108th Avenue East in Edgewood.

Dispatched reported a possible fire burning on the back deck and porch of a two story home. East Pierce crews arrived and found that the fire had been extinguished by the occupant.

Its believed that improperly discarded smoking materials were to blame. There was minor damage to a plant pot and wall.
