Sumner High’s boys tennis season is coming to a close, but six Spartans are still in the mix for the West Central District III tournament Friday and Saturday.

At the South Puget Sound League 2A tournament, Zak Landers finished second in singles, and Cody Jagodinski in fourth. In doubles play, Brandon Walsh and John Fordice finished in second, and Sam Jacobsen and Julian Fernandez in fourth.

The Spartans finished at second place in the league, with a 10-2 record. Landers, Fordice and Walsh earned places in the First Team All League.

The district tournament will take place at the Bremerton Tennis and Athletic Club, 1909 Northeast John Carlson Road in Bremerton. Matches are scheduled to begin 8:15 a.m.
