The Sumner girls swim team remains undefeated. They faced Steilacoom, who boasted a 6-0 record before meeting the Spartans.
Sumner won 107-79 Thursday on the road.
“Steilacoom gave us a run for our money (but) at the end of the day Sumner won …” said coach Dana Powers.
Madison Munger won both the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly. The 100 backstroke was won by Alicia Ditty. Illiana Kaiser won the 100 freestyle with her best time posted this year, 1 minute and 4.17 seconds.
Brittany Tuffs and Lauren Baker dove their season best capturing second and fourth place respectively, Powers said.
Erin Lynch dropped over 10 seconds in her 100 freestyle, while MichaelAnn Wilson dropped time in her 100 breaststroke. Wilson also came out the toughest swimmer of the meet, going back to back from the 500 freestyle to the 200 freestyle relay, said Powers. She had one race between the 200 relay and dropped her time in the 100 breaststroke.
The Spartans will swim against Washington, Clover Park and Franklin Pierce 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Clover Park.
