BLHS GOLF: Bonney Lake’s Duckett earns medalist honors

Peninsula’s Rachel Lewis was medalist with a 42.

For the Panthers, Courtney Bartlett and Tracy Hare led the team with 54 each, and Anna Babbitt finished with a 62.

In boys action, Bonney Lake lost 80-34 to the Seahawks. Peninsula’s Joey McNeil led all golfers with a 2-over par 38.

On Sept. 15, the girls scored a 67-63 win over Franklin Pierce in SPSL 3A play at High Cedars Golf Course in Orting.

Bartlett and Hare tied for first place with a 46 on the par-36 course. Babbitt was third with a 52. The girls finished one stroke ahead of the Cardinals, 331-332.

In boys play, the Panthers were edged by Franklin Pierce at High Cedars.

Bonney Lake’s Brian Duckett was the medalist with a 6-over par 42.

Justin Ellis and Charlie Erhardt contributed nine points each for the Panthers. William West, playing in his first varsity match, scored eight points. Josh Journey and Nick Bendon had six each.

The boys and girls teams travel to North Thurston Thursday in nonleague action and host Enumclaw at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at High Cedars.
