BLHS CROSS COUNTRY: Lady Panther squad dominates Lion runners

The Bonney Lake High boys pushed their South Puget Sound League 3A cross country mark to 1-3 with a 21-38 victory over Decatur Thursday.

The Bonney Lake High boys pushed their South Puget Sound League 3A cross country mark to 1-3 with a 21-38 victory over Decatur Thursday. The BLHS girls lifted their league record to 2-2 with dual wins in this same three-team meet, 15-45 over Auburn Mountainview and 18-43 over Decatur.

The Panther girls dominated both the Lions and the Gators as super sophomores Marie Wilson and Sierra Espinal crossed the finish line in first and second place with times of 20 minutes, 25 seconds and 20:39. Not far behind them were Alise McCoy in fourth place with a time of 22:03, Hope Dickson at 22:10 and Emily Campbell at 22:18.

While the boys fell short against Auburn Mountainview, losing 24-31, they did manage their initial conquest of the 2010 campaign, 21-38 over Decatur.

Nolan Weber leaned forward to finish third with a time of 17:19. In hot pursuit were Reid Hawkins, Bryant Maxey, Jake Theriault and Tyler Free, coming up with fourth, seventh, eighth and ninth.
