The Bonney Lake fastpitch squad relinquished its stranglehold on the South Puget Sound League 3A’s top spot April 20 when the Panthers fell 9-5 to Auburn Mountainview.

Despite Panther slugger Sammy Ebner going 3 for 4 at the dish and teammate Taylor Watkins going 3 for 3 with a home run, Bonney Lake simply could not seem to keep the Lady Lions at bay.

To make matters worse, Fridy the Panthers lost 5-3 to the Lancers, who scored a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings to go up 5-2 and never looked back.

With a 10-3 record, Bonney Lake is a lock to make the playoffs, but will look to regain some momentum in its final three league games.
