Members of the Bonney Lake Senior Center embarked on a surprise trip to historic downtown Olympia Saturday that included a tour of the Bigelow Museum and window shopping in the theater district.

The trip was the latest of the occasional Saturday secret trips set up by senior aide Janis Smith. Seniors signed up for the trip with no idea what the destination would be.

“The fun starts on the bus ride over, when everyone’s trying to guess where they could be going,” Smith said.

The senior center bus arrived in downtown Olympia and seniors were tasked with visiting the boutique shops on a list. At each visit, they received a business card, which they redeemed for prizes.
