TACOMA – Drivers should plan ahead for a total closure of South Tacoma Way approaching the Nalley Valley Viaduct this weekend.
Beginning at approximately 9:45 p.m. Friday, May 30 crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close all lanes of South Tacoma Way between South Pine and South Wilkeson streets to through-traffic. Through-motorists will detour via South Center Street. Access to local businesses within the closed section of South Tacoma Way will be provided.
South Tacoma Way will reopen at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31.
The road closure will allow crews to perform underground electrical work as part of WSDOT’s I-5/SR 16 Eastbound Nalley Valley project.
