The Bonney Lake High soccer crew improved its South Puget Sound League 3A record to 2-0-1 Friday with a 3-0 blanking of the Clover Park Warriors.

The Bonney Lake High soccer crew improved its South Puget Sound League 3A record to 2-0-1 Friday with a 3-0 blanking of the Clover Park Warriors.

The victory improved the Panthers’ overall mark to 4-3-2.

Bonney Lake jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first half on the strength of an unassisted goal by JD Walter in the 18th minute and a Jordan Billy goal just three minutes later. Midway through the second half, Tim Knoles tacked on a penalty kick to polish off the scoring.

Alex Hall earned the shutout in goal.

The Panthers had earned a tough 1-0 victory April 14, defeating Franklin Pierce on the Cardinals’ home turf.

Bryant Maxey scored the game’s lone goal in the 60th minute off a Knoles assist.
