Five Bonney Lake seniors were honored during their lunch period Nov. 26 for signing a letter of intent to play at the next level after graduation.

• Haleigh Ryneski

Haleigh Ryneski has played soccer for 14 years and is continuing her soccer career at Evergreen State College in the fall.

“I am thankful to continue,” Ryneski said.

As for playing after college, she said she will see how it goes.

Ryneski received an athletic award.

• Joey Mack

Joey Mack has been playing soccer since he was three, his mom Jane Mack said.

“He is passionate about soccer and academics,” Jane said.

Mack is going to go to Saint Martin’s University and he said he is honored to do to so.

“I am thankful for all those who have helped me,” he said.

Mack has received a 75 percent athletic and academic sholarship.

• Taiki Green

Taiki Green will continue his baseball career at the University of New Mexico in the fall.

His parents, Emi and Rick Green, are excited he is getting this opportunity to continue playing. He has played since he was five, they said.

“I am overwhelmed,” Green said. “It is humbling to continue playing past high school at a D1 school.”

Green received a full athletic scholarship.

• Michael Gretler

Michael Gretler not only will continue playing baseball at Oregon State University next fall but he has also been talking with major league baseball teams.

A few weeks ago, Gretler and his dad, Jim Gretler, traveled to Boston to workout at Fenway Park.

He has always liked Oregon State, this a dream come true, his parents Jim and Nancy Gretler said.

When it comes to playing at the collegiate level or the majors, his parents added, it would have to be a good offer to pull him away from his schooling.

“This is very exciting,” Gretler said. “I have always wanted to play at Oregon State, it’s my dream school.”

He received a full athletic scholarship.

• Gordon Nelson

Gordon Nelson has played football for the Panthers but he won’t be continuing that after graduation.

Nelson turned his focus to lacrosse his senior year and has signed to play Division II lacrosse at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri this fall.

He is an intense competitor and has worked really hard for this opportunity, his parents, Brian and Laura Nelson, said.

Nelson changed his focus to lacrosse because he felt it would better benefit him, he said.

He received a partial athletic scholarship.

Two other seniors that signed letters of intent who were unable to be honored during the assembly are Ashleigh Cade and Madi Adams. Cade is going to play Division I soccer at the University of Louisiana on a 75 percent athletic scholarship. And Adams will attend Air Force Academy in the fall to play Division I soccer. She received a fill scholarship.
