Sumner High School’s baseball team defeated the Steilacoom Sentinels Tuesday night in a 3-1 game.

The Spartans scored their runs early in the second and fourth innings, and collectively managed its three runs in six hits at-bat. Steilacoom made its run in the sixth, with four hits in the game and four errors.

Brandon Boyd was the Spartans star pitcher, pitching seven innings and achieving eight strikeouts.

The Spartans additionally lost to Franklin Pierce on Saturday, 5-2. Results missed our April 25 print edition.
