King County wants to hear from residents who are interested in learning more about a draft trail stewardship proposal for 600 acres of public forestland east of Maple Valley.

A public meeting has been set for Wednesday, April 24 at Tahoma Junior High School, when County staff will discuss how the trail proposal will be included in the recently completed Danville-Georgetown Open Space Forest Stewardship Plan.

The meeting is set for 7-8:30 p.m. in the library of the school, at 25600 SE Summit-Landsburg Rd., Ravensdale.

King County staff will review and discuss proposals on long-term trail improvements and usage by hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers at Danville-Georgetown Open Space, and at the nearby Henry’s Ridge Open Space.

The Danville – Georgetown Forest Stewardship Plan is available for review at http://edit.kingcounty.gov/recreation/parks/naturalresources/foreststewardship.aspx; the Henry’s Ridge Forest Stewardship Plan will be completed in 2014. Final trail recommendations will be incorporated into forest stewardship plans for both sites.
