Ralph E. Bretthauer died June 28, 2012, in Puyallup, at the age of 75. He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2005.

He was born March 2, 1937, in St. Frances, Kan., to Robert and Nola Bretthauer. He graduated in 1955 from Enumclaw High School.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Anita J. (Lokovsek) Bretthauer; sons Patrick and Tim Bretthauer; daughter Teresa Hardersen; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of life potluck is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. All are invited to provide a favorite dish and a favorite story.
