Bernal Allen Pete

Bernal (Bub) Allen Pete died July 18, 2012.

He was born Sept. 13, 1941, in Wilkeson to Albert and Rose Pete. He attended White River High School and Bates Vocational School. He worked for the Forest Service, as a fire jumper and as a logger. He was a meat cutter for West Coast Grocery in Tacoma for 17 years, then worked 19 years at Davis Wire in Kent. He married Donna in June 1965 and in 1977 they built a home in Sumner. In retirement, they spent five years traveling the western United States and Canada in a recreational vehicle. The couple bought a home in Florence, Aria., where he enjoyed golfing, panning for gold, four-wheeling in the desert and visiting casinos. He was an outdoorseman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by wife Donna; sons Andrew Pete and wife Chelsey and Steven Pete; daughter Cindy Fry and husband Jeremy; brother Albert Pete; sisters Dolores Ryan, Rosemarie Howard and Cathy Nelson and husband Leroy; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister Doreen Sinclair.

A celebration of his life is planned for 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Wilkeson Eagles Hall.
