Former area resident Gregory Stephen Schultz died Aug. 2, 2012.
He was born Aug. 14, 1956, in Seattle, grew up in Black Diamond and graduated from Enumclaw High School. He and his wife, Mary, made their home in Federal Way 30 years ago. He was a loving family man who enjoyed kayaking, salmon fishing, dirt bike riding and cross-country hiking. He recently retired after 24 years as director of construction with Quadrant Homes. In his years at Quadrant, he was passionate about improving the culture of health and safety. He also was founder of the company’s Superintendent’s University.
He is is survived by Mary Ellen, his wife of 30 years; children Lucas W. Schultz, Ashley P. Schultz, Ken Rappe and wife Gina, and Rachael Rappe; mother Alta Vaughn and stepfather Marvin Vaughn; brothers Scott Schultz and wife Jackie, Jeff Schultz, Justin Schultz and wife Molly and Devin Schultz and wife Wendi; sister Linda Williams and husband Buzz; and two granddaughters.
A celebration of his life will is planned for 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club.
