Leah Quilo died July 19, 2011.
Leah Dano Rivera was born April 21, 1946, in Jimenez, Philip-pines, to Pastor and Celerina Rivera. She married Charles Quilo on Dec. 27, 1968. They started their family in the Philippines and moved with their three children to the United States in 1988 where they settled in Enumclaw. She was a high school teacher in the Philippines. She loved cooking and gardening and was an avid reader until she lost her sight from diabetes; after that, she enjoyed listening to the Bible on tape. The most important thing in her life was her loving family.
She is survived by her husband Charles, of Enumclaw; daughters Gladys Mariano and husband Pablo of Sacramento, Calif., and Virna Quilo of San Francisco; son Neil Quilo and wife Charlane of Puyallup; siblings Wilfredo Rivera and wife Lourdes of Auburn, Wash., Dr. Rostom Rivera and wife Beverly of Enumclaw and Lorna Baylosis and husband Mario of San Francisco; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Noel Rivera.
A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, July, 30 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1725 Porter St. in Enumclaw.
