Walter Henry died Feb. 28, 2016, following a lengthy illness. He was 86.
He was raised in Black Diamond, graduated in 1949 from Enumclaw High School and attended both Central Washington University and the University of Washington. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed a 40-year career in sales for Metlife. He was an avid steelhead fisherman who spent much of his time on the Skykomish and Green rivers, fishing with brother.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Harriet Henry; daughters Cheryl Keegan (David) and Kim Howitt (Jake); brother Jack Henry (Joanne); sisters Margaret Brown (Fred) and Linda Johansen; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service took place March 11 at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines, Wash.
