A large commercial development along the highway in Buckley will be the subject of a March 7 public hearing.
A pair of two-story buildings, plus a separate shop, are proposed for land on the north side of state Route 410, just east of the existing Mobil station just east of the Mundy Loss Road intersection. The site consists of two parcels totaling about 3.16 acres.
Buckley’s hearing examiner will conduct the public hearing beginning at 3 p.m. in the city’s Multipurpose Building, 811 Main St. Comments from the public will be taken at that time.
The proposal calls for one building of 11,180 square feet on the main floor, plus 5,500 square feet of space on a second floor. A second proposed building would be slightly smaller (9,750 square feet on the ground floor and 4,875 above). Plans call for a separate shop of 3,000 square feet and approximately 80 parking spaces.
According to information on the city website, “Proposed uses include the applicant’s contracting business’s regional office and equipment storage and rental units for auto repair or similar use. To the north of the buildings will be the contractor yards.”
The city initially received the project application from WS Contractors in December 2015.
Written comments can be submitted in advance of the March 7 public hearing. They should be directed to City Planner Kathy Thompson and mailed to: City of Buckley, P.O. Box 1960, Buckley, 98321.
