Mike Cronin was born in Seattle, Washington on July 20, 1945. He passed away on November 17, 2017 surrounded by family at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa and friend.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years Linda , sons Daniel (Jesse) and Michael (Suzi) He has five grandchildren, Nathaniel, Kylee, Zoe, David and Tia. He is also survived by a sister Lynda Gormley of Puyallup, many nieces and nephews plus several cousins.
Mike grew up in Seattle and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1963. While living in Seattle he was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. His volunteer work was evident in receiving the Boy Scout Silver Beaver Award, given by The Chief Seattle Council BSA. Before he retired he traveled all over the United States assembling large container handling equipment for Sea Ports and the railroad After he retired in 2004 from American President’s Lines, he and Linda moved to Buckley. He loved to cook and was always making large quantities of Soup and Salsa. If you went to visit him you would go home with some type of food he made. That is when you knew he considered you a friend. In the little Spiketon neighborhood of Buckley Mike was the go to man. He had a tool for everything and could fix just about anything using his heavy equipment background.
There will be a Celebration of Life on December 17th at 2:00pm at the Puyallup American Legion #67, address 309 14th Street SE, Puyallup WA. It is located on the corner of 14th St SE and Pioneer. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Buckley Food Bank, PO Box 29, Buckley WA 98321 .
