Buckley resident Amanda Hill was shot and killed last weekend in Prosser, Washington.
On Feb. 10, Benton County deputies responded to a 12:45 a.m. report of shots being fired in the 140000 block of North River, Prosser.
A deputy and Prosser police officer arrived at the residence about four minutes later, and found Hill in the arms of Amy Brown, a Prosser resident and reportedly a friend of Hill.
The Prosser officer started CPR on Hill after finding she had no pulse. She had a gunshot wound to the chest.
Medics soon arrived but were unable to revive Hill.
In their investigation, officers learned Hill was shot with a handgun outside Brown’s house during a dispute between the two women, though it’s not known what the fight was about.
Brown was arrested on suspicion for murder in the second degree and first degree manslaughter.
This is an ongoing investigation.
