On Wednesday, March 14 at 10 a.m. a nation-wide school walkout will take place. We are walking out to honor the Florida victims as well as protesting for gun control.
I want to walk out to show that I support the victims and their families. To show my school the consequences won’t stop me from showing that support.
In class we were told why we shouldn’t walkout, know why we are walking out if we choose and what would happen if we did. If we choose to walk out students would have to help clean the school after hours.
We are not being encouraged to honor the 17 students who lost their lives. Instead the school is making us feel like we shouldn’t walk out.
The theme at Enumclaw Middle School is choose love. How are we choosing love if we are not inspiring the students to honor and remember the victims and survivors?
The school can not be holding us back from making a change.
