Buckley resident Marydale Brooks, 74, died April 12, 2018, at her home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1943, to the late Clarence D. and Mary A. Brooks in Grenada, Mississippi.

She was a philanthropist, contributing regularly to the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, White River School District and other organizations. When she saw a need for social services in Buckley, she helped start White River Community Outreach. She was an Eagles member who enjoyed vegetable gardening and would spend hours with her brother canning her crops.

She is survived by brother Tom Brooks of Buckley.
