Foiled burglary turns into car chase, shooting

No one was injured, and one female was arrested.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, Enumclaw was hit by a burglary-turned-car chase earlier Tuesday afternoon, April 24.

At approximately 5 p.m., two people — a man and a woman — were attempting to break into a car, said Sgt. Ryan Abbott of the sheriff’s office.

But at the same time, the victims of the burglary came home in their car.

The suspect male and female got into their car to drive away, only to be chased by the victims, Abbott continued.

One of the suspects then fired upon their pursuers, but the chase continued.

Abbott said no one was hit by the shooting.

The chase kept on until the male suspect stopped the car at an unverifiable location and took off on foot into the forest.

The female suspect stayed with the car and was arrested for burglary.

She initially gave a fake name to officers, Abbott said, and when she finally gave her real name, it was found she had two felony warrants out for her arrest.

A canine unit was called to search for the escaped male for over an hour, and a helicopter joined the hunt, but the man was not located.
