The city of Bonney Lake is looking to cash in on the mobile restaurant craze, hosting the first ever Taste@Tapps event later this month with the help of local food trucks, breweries and performers.

Allan Yorke Park will come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of the small food festival on July 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

David Wells, Bonney Lake’s special event coordinator, said more than a half-dozen food trucks will be coming to the event, including The Pit Stop Grill, Boss Mama’s Kitchen and The Rolling Crust.

Additionally, attendees can wet their whistle by stopping over at the Bonney Lake Lion’s Club Taps@Tapps beer garden, which will feature beer options from Half Lion Brewery, Lost Woods Brewery, Cole St. Brewery, Cockrell Hard Ciders, and a surprise brewer that hasn’t been announced, Wells said.

Tickets to get into the beer garden cost $25, and come with five tasting tokens and a stainless steel commemorative tasting cup. All money raised from the Taps@Tapps tent will go to the Lion’s Club. Tickets can be bought at www.bonneylakelions.com/fundraising/tapsattapps, though Wells noted many of the breweries attending are offering a $5 discounts through their various social media accounts.

Of course, the evening wouldn’t be complete without live music, and local performers will make sure there’s plenty to be had.

Starting off the event from 11 to 11:30 a.m. are the Boot Boogie Babes, a Seattle-based line dance team led by DeAnna Lee from the 100.7 The Wolf radio program, followed by Kellee Bradley from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Slim Whizzy, featuring a local Bonney Lake High School teacher, will be taking the stage from 1 to 3 p.m., and the event will end with 80 Proof Ale and band member Mike Sprayberry, who visits Allan Yorke Frequently as a member of Folsom Prism.
