Ruby Shirleen Flesner died Oct. 6, 2018, at her Auburn home. She was 84.

She was born in Steinauer, Nebraska, to Ralph and Estelle Campbell. She graduated in 1956 from the University of Nebraska College of Nursing with a bachelor’s degree and received a master’s degree in nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1981. This education enabled her to work throughout her lifetime in the field she loved until retiring in 2000.

She married Vernon Flesner in 1956. They moved to Washington in 1983 to a home near Shelton. She moved to Buckley to be near her family in 2002. She was an active church member wherever she lived and was most recently a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Enumclaw.

She is survived by sons Jeff (Lynn) of Federal Way, Scott (Sally) of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Brad of Enumclaw and Eric (Kari) of Auburn, and six grandchildren.
