Pierce County history will be on full display Saturday and Plateau communities will figure prominently in the show.
All are invited to hear and share stories of Pierce County’s history at “Discover Pierce County’s Heritage: From the Foothills to Puget Sound Shores.” The free, family-friendly event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Buckley Hall, 127 N. River Ave., in Buckley.
In all, 20 historical societies and museums will gather together to share historical information about the county’s varied communities through interactive displays.
Local organizations participating in Saturday’s event include the Foothills Historical Society, Greater Bonney Lake/Lake Tapps Historical Society, Sumner Ryan House Museum and the Wilkeson Historical Society/Carbon River Corridor. Also from the local scene will be the still-new Buckley Odd Fellows and Rebekah Historical Museum, as well as the Buckley City Cemetery.
