Our beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend died September 14, 2019, with family by his side. Paul was born October 20, 1919, in Stickney, South Dakota. He always retained love for his home state and often spoke fondly of growing up on a farm. He graduated from Custer High School in 1939. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Along with his wife Ella, Paul moved to Enumclaw in 1945 after declaring it “the prettiest place I’ve ever seen” and started his own company, Rossman Electric. For over 60 years, he actively served his community, both as a life member of Kiwanis and a congregant at Sacred Heart church.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Jack) Oxford; brother George (Marlene); grandchildren Byron (Laura) Oxford; Victoria Oxford; Kathy (Joe) Ferry; Mike (Vicki) Wood; Christine (Kevin) Witte; and great-grandchildren Emerson Oxford and Brittany, Joseph and MaKenzie Ferry. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Ella; daughter Marilyn (Jack) Farrell; son Ron (Jennette); parents Mary and George; and seven siblings.
Paul would have been 100 in October. He lived a full, generous life and will be dearly missed. A rosary prayer service will be held at Sacred Heart in Enumclaw on Thursday, September 26, at 7pm. Memorial mass is Friday, September 27, at 11am at Sacred Heart, with reception to follow. Interment at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park will follow at 2pm.
