January 9

– The department took a report of two individuals possibly shoplifting at a city grocery store. An officer contacted the pair at 3:49 a.m. and they were trespassed from the premises.

January 8

– Police heard at 2:58 a.m. of a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of Mt. Peak Village. Officers responded and eventually arrested three suspects for possession of stolen property (a vehicle). The automobile was impounded per the owner’s request.

January 7

– Police were told of a sexual assault that occurred at a Division Street location. A report was taken.

– Police responded to a Chinook Avenue location after hearing of a verbal dispute between drivers. An officer determined no crime had occurred and no further action was necessary.

– Unauthorized signs were posted to the back of existing traffic signs along Cole Street. An officer was unable to remove the signs but other city employees were notified and were to handle the removal.

– An officer checked on the welfare of an individual at the public library. The person was referred to “mobile crisis” staff who were responding to the location.

– After hearing of a domestic dispute between two people, police responded at 12:21 a.m. to a Chinook Avenue location. It was determined the dispute was verbal only. About an hour earlier, officers had been dispatched to a Cole Street address for the same type of call; the result was the same.

January 6

– A call was made to the 911 system from a land-line phone at a McHugh Avenue address. It was found to be a medical emergency, with individuals already headed to the hospital.

– A mental health professional called for police assistance with an individual who was being involuntarily committed to the hospital.

January 5

– Police were asked to assist Buckley officers who were responding to a domestic dispute at a Pearl Street location. The residence was known to police and caution was advised. Contact was made and one individual was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital on an involuntary commitment.

– A traffic stop at 1:50 a.m. on Garrett Street results in the driver being arrested for investigation of DUI. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

January 4

– A patient walked away from the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 11 p.m. Police located the individual, who was returned to the hospital.

– Police heard from a mother who was having troubles with her 14-year-old son. An officer responded and the issue was settled.

– A man told police at 1:12 a.m. that his daughter and a friend had been threatened earlier in the evening at a party in Buckley. Contact was made, options were explained and police notified Buckley authorities of the situation.

January 3

– An employee of a Griffin Avenue establishment reported a fight at 8:10 p.m. Police arrived and arrested one person for investigation of fourth-degree assault (two charges). The suspect was released from jail the following morning after a bail bond had been posted.

– Noise complaints (an ongoing issue) were received from a Mountain Villa Drive address. An individual turned off the noise when an officer arrived and refused to come to the door.

BLACK DIAMOND

January 5

– Officers responded at 4:30 p.m. to the 29000 block of 220th Place Southeast after taking a report of a delivery driver entering the backyard of a residence. Officers were able to locate the driver who provided proof he was instructed to make the delivery to the back of the residence.

– An officer responded to a Lake Sawyer location after hearing of fireworks being set off. None could be located so the reporting party was contacted by phone for more information. He just mumbled and twice hung up on an officer.

– Just after 4 a.m., Black Diamond police were asked to assist Enumclaw officers with a possible burglary in progress at an Elmont Street address. It was found a door had been pried but could not be opened. Police cleared the scene.

January 3

– Officers were dispatched to confirm an arrest warrant issued by Black Diamond Municipal Court. Officers confirmed the warrant and the individual was transported to the Enumclaw jail for booking.

January 2

– An officer was dispatched shortly before 5 p.m. to the 31600 block of Third Avenue in response to a two-car motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries and both vehicles could be driven from the scene. The at-fault motorist was cited for inattentive driving.

January 1

– Officers responded to a residence on Bruckners Way to perform a welfare check. The reporting party had said a father was behaving erotically toward his children. When officers arrived, they determined that no crime had occurred and the children were released into the care of their mother. A notification was made to Child Protective Services for further investigation.
