January 12
– At 11:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle collision in the 29600 block of 224th Avenue Southeast. A vehicle had left the roadway and struck a power pole, leaving live wires across the road. Subsequent investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
January 11
– An animal complaint took officers to the 32100 block of Union Drive. The reporting parties said they had been bitten by a dog. Officers did not observe any injuries that required medical attention. King County Animal Control was called to investigate the case.
– Officers responded to the Lake Sawyer boat launch after hearing of a man screaming at vehicles. They contacted the individual, who was familiar to them from past calls. The man displayed signs of mental illness, as he was speaking to himself. It was determined he was not a threat to himself or others. He advised he had resources and did not need help from officers. No crime was committed and officers departed.
January 10
– At approximately 9 p.m., officers were flagged down in the 28800 block of 216th Avenue Southeast due to a collision that had recently occurred. There were no injuries and neither vehicle needed to be towed from the scene. At the conclusion of the investigation one driver was issued a notice of infraction for operating a motor vehicle without headlights when required.
– Police stopped a vehicle to conduct a routine commercial vehicle inspection. The driver’s license had been suspended so he was transported to the Enumclaw jail to be booked on a criminal charge.
January 9
– A woman was taken into custody for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence and booked into the Enumclaw jail. The situation began at approximately 8:19 a.m. when police received a call regarding a domestic dispute. Officers contacted the victim at Sawyer Woods Elementary School and were told the man had been assaulted by his wife at his residence just a few minutes earlier. Police contacted his wife and the residence and made an arrest.
– It was about 12:21 a.m. when officers made a traffic stop on near the 32600 block of Railroad Avenue. It was determined the juvenile driver was under the influence of marijuana and had a significant amount in his possession. He was booked and processed for DUI and later released to his parents. The issue of the significant amount of marijuana was forwarded to juvenile court.
– An officer was dispatched to a malicious mischief report in the 28800 block of 224th Avenue Southeast. Sometime during the night a suspect cut a lock on the hitch of an enclosed work trailer and attempted to take it from the constructions sight. There were no immediate suspects.
– Officers were informed that a citizen found posters on light poles in front of a Railroad Avenue business that promoted white supremacy. The individual removed the posters and called 911 to report the incident.
January 6
– Officers made a traffic stop in the 31600 block of Third Avenue and found the driver’s license had been revoked. The driver was issued a criminal citation and also received a citation for speeding. A passenger was allowed to drive the vehicle from the scene.
