Ruth Mihelich

Ruth passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2020.

Today is a little colder with mom gone. Ruth Miller and her identical twin sister Truth were born in Redmond, WA on Dec. 15, 1936. Ruth passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2020. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Working in the kitchen at the smokejumpers camp in Winthrop WA, Ruth met her first love James White.

Between fighting fires the two fell in love and were married. They were living in Fullerton, CA when James was diagnosed with cancer. Needing to become head of the household, Ruth enrolled in college and started her LPN training while caring for Jim and their 4 children. Ruth became a young widow at 34 completing her education and graduating with honors. She was always very proud of her accomplishment but not as proud as she was of her children: Kathy, husband Dave, grandchildren Christopher and Jennifer; Douglas, wife Lisa, granddaughter Sabrina; Mikel, grandson James, great-grandson Joseph; Linda, husband Keith, grandchildren Dylan and Jessica and great-grandchildren, Reine and Brayden.

Ruth worked at Enumclaw Medical Clinic as Dr. George Magley’s nurse for 20 years. During that time she met and married Charles Reedy. Though only married 10 years, they remained good friends until his untimely drowning death. After a short courtship, she married Joseph Mihelich in early 1990, welcoming Joe’s daughter Liz and husband Patrick into the family.

After losing Joe she then endured the loss of her twin sister Trudy. She remained close to her brother-in-law Robert and they were caring platonic companions until her passing. She will be missed by all who love her.

Funeral services were at Week’s Funeral Home in Buckley, WA on Feb. 25, 2020.
