Brethren, hear me!
My words, sincerely plead
Listen, Brothers and Sisters!
Is the Dream now finally dead?
Look upon my face,
See it awash in tears
Are you not afraid for one and all?
And consumed by constant fear!
Speak to me, my people!
With words deep from within your heart
See our cause as supremely just
And your strength may you do impart
For a better world for all
Together we can overcome
Cure the sadness which plagues all our People
Before our Nation finally comes undone.
But Friend, I cannot hear you!
With these sirens all around
Your words are quietly lost to me
While our cities are burning down
Nor can I see you, Brother,
My eyes, now diverted by destruction and endless fires
Caused by your ceaseless and senseless violence
Which robs the Peace we so desire
And neither can I see you
From me, you’ve turned away
Drawn into a cycle of endless destruction
For which innocents have had to pay
No, I cannot see you or hear you
While America is held hostage by the things that you do
Don’t you see, your message is lost on me
Until your Chaos is finally through
Violence begets nothing but violence
A lesson all should have already learned
That I cannot see you or hear you
While our Nation continues to burn!
