ENUMCLAW
August 6
– Police responded to a Griffin Avenue business after hearing of a disturbance between a customer and an employee. Both parties were contacted and it was found to be verbal dispute only.
August 5
– Police conducted an 8:30 p.m. traffic stop on Roosevelt Avenue, eventually giving a citation to a motorist who was found to be driving with a suspended license. The guilty party was released and the vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver.
– An officer was sent to a meeting point on state Route 164 to take custody of an individual who was wanted on three Enumclaw warrants. The exchange was made with a member of the Auburn force and the suspect was returned to Enumclaw for booking.
– Officers responded to a report of a domestic issue and found it to be a verbal dispute between teenage siblings.
August 4
– Enumclaw Fire Department staff requested police assistance as they dealt with a fire at a Chinook Avenue homeless encampment.
– Police were told of abandoned animals living in an unattended trailer on 284th Avenue Southeast. Officers removed the animals and took them to the police station until King County Animal Control arrived to take possession.
– A third-party report detailed a domestic violence at a Commerce Street location. Police contacted both the victim and a witness and provided the victim with a DV handbook. The victim declined medical assistance. The following morning, police located the suspect who was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence, taken to the station and booked.
August 3
– Police responded to a Warner Avenue location where an individual was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital on an involuntary commitment.
August 2
– A 9:27 p.m. traffic stop turned up an individual who was operating a vehicle with a suspended license and without the required ignition interlock device. The suspect was booked into jail and the vehicle was impounded.
– Police received a 911 hang-up call but determined the caller was in need of medical attention by fire department personnel.
July 31
– A report was taken regarding an individual inside a Semanski Street church. Officers responded at 8:47 p.m. and detained an individual who was then trespassed from the property.
– An abandoned motor home was reported to be in the parking lot of a Garrett Street business. Police found the vehicle unoccupied and gave the reporting party options for dealing with the unwanted RV.
BLACK DIAMOND
August 2
– An officer responded to the 31000 block of 229 Avenue Southeast to address a civil issue. The reporting party had an RV on his property that had been abandoned by a neighbor. The officer determined the issue was civil and provided advice on how to proceed in dealing with their neighbor.
– At about 5:25 p.m. officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the vicinity of Lake Sawyer Road and Roberts Drive. The driver initially failed to stop but eventually came to a halt. He was uncooperative at first, but police were able to determine he was having a diabetic episode. Medical personnel arrived to evaluate the individual who was allowed to leave with a family member.
– Police were asked to provide additional patrol on Botts Drive. A citizen reported there has been an increase in cars speeding on the road due to an error on Google Maps sending cars down the dead-end road. Officers will be monitoring the area for traffic violations.
August 1
– City officers conducted a 10 p.m. traffic stop in the 24000 block of Roberts Drive. The driver was issued a citation for not having a valid license and received traffic infractions for driving with wheels off the roadway and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. The driver also was arrested and transported to the King County Jail due to an active felony warrant out of Seattle.
July 31
– A citizen called police at 9 p.m. after observing a man who appeared unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 25100 block of Roberts Drive. Subsequent investigation determined there was probable cause to arrest the driver for being in physical control of a vehicle while under the influence. The driver was transported and booked into jail and the vehicle was impounded.
– An officer was dispatched to Black Diamond Elementary School after police received a complaint about loud music coming from the basketball court. Contact was made with two subjects playing basketball who agreed to turn down their music.
– Officers were dispatched to an animal complaint in the 25500 block of Palmer Place. They were told two dogs had escaped from their property and killed a neighbor’s cat. Officers issued the dog owner a criminal citation for a violation of the Black Diamond Municipal Code.
July 30
– Police arrested a suspect for driving under the influence and, during the incident, the suspect made credible threats to visit the officer’s house with a firearm. Those threats constituted a violation of law and the suspect was charged with a felony and later booked into the Regional Justice Center in Kent.
– Police stopped a truck due to a traffic violation in the 22000 block of Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road. The driver was arrested for DUI and the truck, boat trailer and boat were impounded.
– After conducting an afternoon traffic stop on Roberts Drive, police learned the driver was wanted on a warrant issue by the city of Kent. He was cited for speeding and booked into the Kent jail due to the warrant.
July 29
– An officer from the Black Diamond Police Department was joined by an Enumclaw officer after hearing of a suspicious vehicle with covered windows. Officers arrived at a Blaine Avenue address and contacted the registered owner, who was standing outside her vehicle. She was wanted on a Puyallup warrant but action on the warrant was declined. She was having work done on her vehicle and agreed to depart once the work was completed.
– Shortly before 11 a.m., police were told of a verbal dispute between a father and son, reported by the father. The disagreement was with an 18-year-old son who lives at the family residence. Officers arrived and recommended that the family seek counseling for their issues. No crime was been committed so officers departed.
July 28
– A female sought advice about evicting two people who were renting a room at her residence. Officers explained she would need to contact an attorney since it was a civic issue and provided her with information about obtaining a restraining order from the Regional Justice Center in Kent.
