Body found in Myrtle Avenue porta potty

An Enumclaw resident appears to have overdosed.

The body of a local man was found in a portable toilet earlier this week.

The Enumclaw Police Department received a call about the body just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2; the man was found by a city employee who was checking the toilets on the corner of Cole Street and Myrtle Avenue.

“It appeared he’d been in there for several hours,” said Commander Tim Floyd. “It was a person known to us, an Enumclaw resident. There did not appear to be any signs of foul play.”

It took several hours for the King County Medical Examiner to arrive to collect the body; after a quick investigation, it was determined the man died of an opioid overdose — possibly heroin.

The identity of the man has not been made public, and the Courier-Herald doesn’t publish the names of those who die by drug overdose or suicide.
