PUBLIC INDECENCY: A 29-year-old male was arrested for urinating in plain sight along at about 5:39 p.m,. Jan. 4 along state Route 410. The man was later released.
ALTERCATION?: Slightly after midnight Jan. 1, a 30-year-old Orting man was contacted by police outside a local Main Street establishment regarding a potential altercation. The man was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant out of Orting, was was booked into the Buckley jail without further incident.
SUICIDE ATTEMPT: At about midnight Jan. 1, police were dispatched to a Main Street apartment complex regarding a possible suicide attempt. The 34-year-old male in the apartment was transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
TALK OF SUICIDE: Just after 1 a.m. Dec. 31, police were dispatched to a Church Street apartment complex in Wilkeson, where a suicidal subject was armed with a gun. When police arrived they defused the situation somewhat by removing the firearm, then discovered that the man was simply having trouble dealing with things and just wanted to talk to someone about his problems. A member of the fire department transported the man to the nearest hospital.
DRUNK IN DENIAL: Shortly after 11 p.m. Dec. 29, an officer stationed on the Lower Cemetery Road noticed a 52-year-old female exceeding the speed limit and pulled her over. Despite her watery, bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of intoxicants on her breath, she told the officer that she hadn’t consumed any alcohol that evening. The woman refused to perform any voluntary tests, but when she exited her vehicle her speech was slurred as well as repetitive, leading the officer to believe that she was intoxicated. The woman was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and her vehicle was impounded.
