Jan. 10
– Police were asked to check on a vehicle involved in a court order. A caller wanted officers to determine if a particular automobile was at a 244th Avenue location because a court order had given her possession. Police checked but could not locate the vehicle.
– Officers were dispatched to a Sunny Lake residence after hearing threats had been received via text message. Investigation determined that no crime had been committed but a report was filed.
Jan. 9
– Officers responded at 8:35 p.m. to the 29000 block of 216th Avenue Southeast after taking a report of an unwanted individual outside a business. Police contacted the man, asked that he move along and he complied.
– Both police and emergency medical personnel responded to a call about a 9-month-old child choking. Prior to their arrival the reporting party advised the child was no longer choking. Medics turned back while police continued to the home and assured the patient was breathing normally.
– An officer conducted a routine traffic stop in the 21400 block of Southeast Covington-Sawyer Road at 6:13 p.m. It was determined the driver was operating the vehicle while in possession of a suspended license. The driver was cited and released at the scene and the vehicle was impounded.
Jan. 8
– Just after midnight, police responded to a call of a domestic incident involving a knife. After arriving at the Favro Street location, officers determined there was probable cause to arrest one of the involved parties for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence and, additionally, for exposing children to domestic violence. The individual was arrested and booked in the Issaquah jail.
– Officers took a phone report regarding a possible violation of a restraining order. The caller said her ex-husband had gone onto her property, thus violating the order. Police determined the ex-husband was legally allowed on the property so there was no violation.
– A theft report had officers heading to the 33000 block of Southeast Stevens Street. The reporting party said multiple items had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle. There were no leads and the case was listed as inactive.
– Officers stopped a vehicle in the 21900 block of Southeast 288th Street when it was determined the registered owner’s drivers license had been revoked. After confirming it was the registered owner behind the wheel, the driver was cited and the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
– A landlord called police to a Fairfax Street location to take a malicious mischief report. She was hoping officers could document the damage caused by a previous tenant. Once on the scene, officers explained that such matters were civil in nature, not to involve the police.
Jan. 7
– Officers were charged with delivering legal papers to someone at a 224th Avenue Southeast address. The papers were served and two guns were removed from the residence. One firearm was confirmed as stolen and the originating agency was notified of its recovery. There were no arrests as the individual in possession of the weapon had no idea it had been stolen.
Jan. 5
– A shoplifter took a package of Hostess cupcakes from a city business, prompting a morning call to police. A store employee reported the suspect walked south on Third Avenue and officers were able to locate her. The employee did not want to press charges but, instead, wanted the shoplifter trespassed from the store. That request was carried out. At her request the woman was transported to Maple Valley and released.
Jan. 4
– A motorist received a criminal citation after being stopped in the 30800 block of 224th Avenue Southeast. Police found the man’s drivers license was suspended and the vehicle was not legally registered. He was cited and released at the scene but the vehicle was impounded.
– A man called the police, looking for advice on how he could handle a parenting issue with his ex-wife. He was referred to the court system.
– Police were dispatched to a construction site in the 22900 block of Fir Street, where it was said a commercial burglary had taken place the previous weekend. Until more information was made available the case was placed on inactive status.
