What is truth? I am a believer in eternal constants: Things that are always true. Things that are verifiable.
In the realm of “science” you use what is called the scientific method, the process of observation, hypothesis (or an educated guess), rigorous testing, reviewing the facts, and then reporting your findings so your peers can review your work and verify its truth. That is how science is supposed to work.
But lately, “following the science” has gone astray – to question what is told you is a sign that you are promoting “disinformation”, and suspicions that you are secretly a “Russian subversive” abounds.
I recently re-read George Orwell’s “1984”. In that book, our hero Winston Smith works for the Ministry of Truth – a government agency with ties to Big Tech, who is tasked with one job. When the Ministry finds something that disagrees with current policies and objectives, then his job is to rewrite that fact, with a new and updated fact, and substitute it into the collective. Today, he would be described as a “fact checker”.
When Hitler rose to power, he was known to burn books and rewrite history to change the narrative and make his movement more legitimate. Statues were torn down and new ones put up in their place.
Gaslighting is a term that is in vogue more and more. It is the process of adding bits of false information to people and declaring it truth all along, and it makes people doubt their own memories and beliefs.
Take some of the major big stories that have taken place over the last couple years. Something in the news today, has come into the sunlight again.
Back in August of 2020 – a couple months before the election, Hunter Biden (the president’s son) dropped his broken laptop off at a computer repair shop, and never got around to picking it up again. After realizing who it belonged to, the shop tried to get hold of him. After failing that, they tried to give it to the FBI. They appeared to not want to touch it. On the laptop were family pictures and documents that proved it belonged to Hunger. Along with that, are pictures of him in the tub with a crack pipe, reportedly pictures of him with ladies of a professional nature, and other juicy stuff.
The problem was, as all of this was coming to light, mainstream media and big tech decided it would be too compromising for the upcoming election, and they blocked all references to it being discussed. If you said anything about Hunter Biden and his laptop, you would be listed as a “conspiracy theorist”, dealing in “misinformation”, and then you would be deleted from Facebook and Twitter and others. There was a signed letter from a top “expert” that said that it was most likely Russian disinformation, which had other “experts” agreeing. Problem was, they never examined the laptop themselves!
Several people have copies of the hard drive of the laptop now, and many parts of it have been verified. But you may well ask yourself, why does it matter? Well, after the election, and the laptop contents were reveled, the Media Research Center (a conservative media watchdog organization) showed that as many as 16 percent of voters admitted they would have voted differently if they knew the full story. The “Ministry of Truth” was able to direct the outcome of the world by controlling what people saw and heard.
Another direction – here in Enumclaw, there are many farmers. In the world, elite sophisticates may look down on farmers, but for the most part, they are the last bastion of common sense. When given the choice between looking at chickens and roosters, a recent study showed that 100 percent of farmers were able to figure out which ones were producers of eggs; when given the choice between looking at a herd of cows or a bull, they again, 100 percent effectively, were able to discern which ones you went to for milk.
Of course, there was no actual study. But my point is, the progressive left, as the sophisticates that they are, are able to rationalize that one-plus-one may not always equal two, and that there are unlimited genders out there in the world. If someone out there wants to identify as a tree druid, then the rest of the world needs to bow the knee and acknowledge that as fact — despite the fact that there are no leaves coming out of their head.
Even medical school instructors at major universities are forced to teach while bowing the knee and with a straight face saying that either sex can bear children. They have to talk about situations where a person comes in, with ovaries, and is going to have a baby. To say that women are the ones that bear children, will get banned, ostracized, deleted off of twitter for being a “homophobe”.
The whole concept of the upcoming Mother’s Day causes the left side of the aisle to go into screaming fits. Last year, some on the left replaced “mother” with “birthing people” in various bills, and Democratic Rep. Cori Bush pushed for changing the holiday to “Birthing Parent’s Day”. How can we celebrate the role of mothers when there is nothing special about women and mothers? If anyone can be one, then there is nothing special about them.
Judge Ketanji Brown was recently confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice – one of the ultimate Judges in the land. A Supreme Court Justice is a judge who is responsible for deciphering laws and ensuring that the United States is governed and guided by its most important body of law, the Constitution. You want those judges to be the smartest and fairest and most qualified people that you can get your hands on.
While I am sure she is a very good person, her main reason for being nominated was because of her race and her gender. This puts things in a very awkward situation. When she was being interviewed, she was asked “Can you provide a definition for the word ‘woman’?” after a moment of thought, she punted and said, “I am not a biologist.” This is the person that interprets the Constitution of the United States. If anyone can be a woman, then there is nothing special about them.
The “Ministry of Truth” will shut you down if you publicly say anything different. If you say, for example, that a strong, biologically male swimmer can identify as a woman, compete with the finest female swimmers in the nation, break all their records, and that completely makes sense, then they have done their job.
Before the villagers come for me with pitch forks and torches, I want to publicly state that I am not a homophobic, racist, sexist, or a hater. I still believe in America and its values. I respect and honor the role of women and mothers. I hope others don’t feel threatened by my belief that the family made of a husband and a mother is the basis of the strongest family unit. If you want to do it differently, then you do you, and I will do me. I believe that the “science” will show that society is strongest when families are raised together with both parents and extended families. That there are positive male and female role models for children to learn from.
I know that in many families, that is not always an option, and my heart goes out to you.
This “family unit” has worked well for thousands of years. Strive for that model. Teach good principles, teach good work ethics. Belief in God strengthens the family.
Socialism for example, believes in breaking apart the family, so that the State can fill that role. They teach that there are no eternal principles. There is no God. The State knows best.
Please don’t rewrite America, so that its core beliefs and values are considered “old fashioned” and progressively changed. As I mentioned before – old fashioned or not, I believe in God, country, and family. And I really, really like, mom’s apple pie!
