July 5
– Officers were dispatched to a car collision on SR 410 that was blocking the lane around 7:29 p.m. Both vehicles involved had their airbags deployed. Police smelled intoxicants coming from the at-fault driver, and a state patrol trooper determined he was driving impaired. The man was arrested.
July 7
– Police observed a male driver run through a stop sign on W Mason Avenue around 9:38 p.m. Offices stopped the car and smelled pot coming from the driver. It was determined the man was driving impaired, and was arrested. A firearm was also seized at the scene.
July 8
– A woman contacted officers around 2:46 p.m. regarding political flags with offensive language being sold on private property on SR 410. Police determined the business had the proper permits.
July 9
– Police were dispatched to Chamberlain Road around 9:35 a.m. to a car theft that reportedly happened overnight. An employee observed the gate was open and a lock cut. A 2021 Ford and 2022 Dodge were stolen. Officers are asking anyone with information on this active case to contact the department at investigativetips@cityofbuckley.com or 360-829-3157.
– Officers were contacted by an anonymous caller about a man leaving the residence of a Division Street woman around 10:47 a.m. The caller said there was a protection order in place, and the man should not be there. Officers confirmed the protection order and sent a criminal citation to the man via mail.

July 4
– Officers were conducting an extra patrol on 312th street due to recent thefts in the area when they came upon a suspicious vehicle around 12:10 a.m. The car appeared to turn around when it saw the police vehicle, and police saw the license plate was obscured with paint. Officers attempted to pull the suspect car over, but it refused to stop and fled from the scene.
– Police were dispatched to Dail Drive around 10:23 p.m. to a report of two juveniles injured by fireworks. Witnesses at the scene confirmed the firework was tipped over when it was lit and discharged in their direction. Both juveniles suffered minor injuries to one of their legs; aid recommended they go to urgent care for treatment.
July 6
– Officers performed a welfare check on an elderly Morgan Street man around 3:19 p.m. They were able to make contact with the man, who told them he was having phone trouble, which was why he couldn’t call the reporting party recently.
July 7
– Police met with a King County deputy at the police department around 1:08 p.m. The deputy had arrested a man with a misdemeanor warrant; officers took custody of the man, who was booked at the Enumclaw jail.
July 8
– Officers were dispatched to Juniper Avenue SE around 1:19 a.m. to a report of a dog barking in a nearby field. It was determined the animal was a coyote, not a dog, and it fled the area when officers approached.
July 10
– Police were on patrol on 3rd Avenue when they came across a male who appeared to be having a mental health episode. Officers were familiar with the subject, who refused assistance, was verbally combative, and hard to understand. The man had a warrant out for his arrest, but due to booking restrictions, he was not arrested. He left the area.
