Enumclaw

DOMESTIC

• Police responded at 7:44 p.m. Jan. 7 to a verbal domestic disturbance at a McKean Court address. The issue was settled when one person agreed to leave for the night.

ASSAULT

• Officers responded at 9:52 p.m. Jan. 7 to a possible fight in progress at a Chinook Avenue address. It was determined to be a case of domestic violence assault. The suspect was gone when police arrived.

DRUNK DRIVER

• Police learned of a white pickup speeding through downtown Enumclaw shortly before 11 p.m. Jan. 7, dragging something similar to a section of fence. The vehicle was located by a Washington State Patrol trooper in the 2700 block of Griffin Avenue. The driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

ROAD RAGE

• A citizen advised police Jan. 6 of an erratic driver in the vicinity of Garrett Street and Stevenson Avenue. An officer determined it stemmed from a case of road rage that originated outside the city. All parties were advised to put a halt to their activity.

THREATS MADE

• Enumclaw police were contacted at 1:17 a.m. Jan. 6 by Buckley authorities, who were looking for a man who had fled from a traffic stop on state Route 410 near the Buckley cemetery. Police were advised to be cautious, as the suspect had directed death threats to police before fleeing in a red Ford hatchback. At 2:29 a.m., Buckley police confirmed the suspect was in custody.

PIPE BOMB

• A Chinook Avenue resident told police Jan. 5 his vehicle had been damaged by a pipe bomb.

MARIJUANA

• A man on a bicycle was stopped by an officer at 11:53 p.m. Jan. 5. He was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, cited and released.

SHOPLIFTER CAUGHT

• Police responded the morning of Jan. 5 to a shoplifting incident at a Griffin Avenue address. The suspect vehicle was stopped in a nearby parking lot and a man was taken into custody for theft.

VEHICLE PROWL

• A city resident called police at 8:40 a.m. Jan. 4 to advise he had detained a subject he found inside his vehicle. The suspect was arrested and booked for vehicle prowl and possession of burglary tools. It was discovered the suspect was wanted on a Seattle Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on theft charges.

• A Pioneer Street resident told police the morning of Jan. 5 someone had entered his vehicle the previous evening and taken a compact disc player and speakers. The loss was estimated at $400.

ITEMS STOLEN

• A Charwila Lane resident told police the morning of Jan. 4 items had been stolen from both his vehicle and carport. Taken were a bicycle and a gaming console.

THEFT FROM GARAGE

• A Wells Street resident notified police the afternoon of Jan. 4, reporting that items had been stolen from an unlocked garage. The victim said neighbors had been the target of the same crime the previous weekend. On behalf of area residents, the victim requested extra police patrol.

TWO CHARGED

• Police investigated suspicious subjects Jan. 4 at an Initial Avenue location. One subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued in Black Diamond and another was arrested for possession of marijuana. Both were taken to the police station for booking. A third subject had left the scene before police arrived.

AUTO THEFT

• A vehicle was reported stolen from a Garrett Street location the morning of Jan. 2. It was seen at 7:45 a.m. in Maple Valley. There were no immediate suspects.

THREE ARRESTED

• An officer on patrol at 2:50 a.m. Jan. 1 ovserved a vehicle in a Griffin Avenue parking lot. Upon investigation, one adult and two uveniles were arested for alcohol offenses. The vehicle was impounded.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

• A Garfield Street resident contacted police Jan 1, complaining that a neighbor’s dog has become increasingly aggressive toward children. No contact was made with the dog owner. The caller was advised to contact King County Animal Control and call again if the dog confronted, or attacked, her or her children.

STORE THEFT

• Police heard from an employee of a Roosevelt store at 5:17 p.m. Jan. 1, concerning the theft of an alcoholic beverage. A known suspect was seen leaving the store on a bicycle. Officers made contact at the suspect’s residence. He was taken into custody and booked on a theft charge.

PROWLING

• Officers responded at 11:56 p.m. Jan. 1 to a report of an interrupted vehicle prowl at a Chinook Avenue address. Police contacted the theft victim, then learned the suspects had been located at Enumclaw Regional Hospital

INTOXICATED

• A traffic stop at 1:11 a.m. Dec. 31 resulted in a driver taken into custody and booked for driving while intoxicated. The vehicle was released to a third party in lieu of being impounded.

THEFT

• Police heard from a local resident who said her roommate may have stolen several items of jewelry. A neighbor said the suspect had attempted to sell him jewelry. An investigation resulted in one person arrested for first-degree theft.

Buckley

OBSTRUCTING

• At 10:07 p.m. Jan. 5, an officer stopped a vehicle on the White River bridge for speeding. The driver, an 18-year-old male, became vulgar and grabbed the officer’s infraction notice. The officer demanded the notice and it was given back. The driver became upset and drove off recklessly. After an investigation, the driver was contacted by phone and charged with obstruction.

NON-INJURY ACCIDENT

• At about 4:30 p.m. Jan. 7, an officer was dispatched to a single-vehicle accident in which a vehicle went into the ditch in the 28700 block of state Route 410. Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle and driver and obtained all the necessary information for the report. The vehicle was still operable and was moved on its own power.

DUI

• At 3:06 a.m. Jan. 9, a 26-year-old man from Bonney Lake was stopped for speeding and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The male was arrested, given a criminal citation and booked into the Buckley jail.

PROWLER

• At about 12:58 p.m. Jan. 10, officers were dispatched to South Cedar Street for a reported prowler entering a residence. Upon arrival, a 29-year-old man from Enumclaw was contacted outside the residence and detained. The female resident was then contacted and identified the male subject as her estranged boyfriend. After speaking to both subjects, it was determined that no domestic assault or dispute had occurred and that the female did not want to be the victim of trespassing. The male subject was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant and taken into custody.
