EGG HUNTS

March 31

• THOMASSON FLASHLIGHT EGG HUNT — KIDS: Thomasson Family Farm is once again hosting a flashlight egg hunt events for kids 13 and up. The event starts at dusk (around 9 p.m.) and boasts of more than $1,500 worth of cash and prizes to be found. Tickets are $30 per person and can only be bought online at thomassonfamilyfarm.ticketspice.com/flashlight-night-hunt; check-in begins at 7 p.m.

April 1 & 7

April 8

• ENUMCLAW EGG HUNT: The city of Enumclaw, in partnership with Babbitt Insurance Group, 4 Culture, and Grace Point Northwest Church, is hosting its egg hunt at the Boise Creek Six Plex from 10 to 11 a.m.

• TEN TRAILS EGG HUNT: Black Diamond’s Ten Trails egg hunt is being hosted at Civic Park from 12 to 3 p.m. The hunt boasts more than 10,000 eggs to find, plus six golden eggs for larger prizes. There will also be food and dessert trucks, lawn games, a petting zoo, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.

SINGLE EVENTS

March 29

• BUNNY PATCH: Thomasson Family Farm’s annual Bunny Patch returns from March 29 to April 2, and April 5 to 8 (it’s closed Easter Sunday). The farm will open every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. One of the event’s main draws is the ongoing Easter Egg Hunt, where kids ages 3 to 12 can search for Easter Eggs at their leisure, as the Easter Bunny will be hiding eggs throughout the day. Weekdays tickets ($10 online, $12 at the ticket booth; kids 2 and under are free) include admission to the Kids Korral, the life-sized football arena, the petting zoo, the hay barn, and refreshments; weekend tickets ($12 online, $14 at the ticket booth; kids 2 and under are free) include a game of laser tag and the apple sling shot. • TRUST IN ELECTIONS: Noted election integrity activist David Clements is visiting Enumclaw to talk about rigged voting machines and how to minimize voting fraud at Headworks Brewery from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This is a free event.

April 1

• WILDFIRE READY NEIGHBORS: Join the Department of Natural Resources, the Pierce Conservation District, and Buckley Fire Department on April 1 at Wilkeson Elementary to learn about how to prepare for and protect your neighborhoods from wildfires. The event is from 10 a.m. to noon, but a second event will be hosted at the Orting Fire Department from 2 to 5 p.m.

• BIRDHOUSE AUCTION: Arts Alive! is hosting a month-long silent auction on locally-painted birdhouses, which will be displayed at the gallery on Cole Street from April 1 to 30. There is a $25 minimum bid, with a $5 up bid. Winners will be announced on May 2.

April 10

• 100 WOMEN WHO CARE: The 100+ Women Who Care Foothills group, which raises money for various local nonprofits, is meeting at the AR Workshop Maple Valley at 7 p.m. In short, nonprofits present their mission to the group, which then votes on which organization to donate money to. Members are asked, but not required, to donate $100 for each quarterly event, with the goal of gifting $10,000. For more information, head to 100womenwhocarefoothills.com.

April 15

• RAINIER RUN AND RALLY: The Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce is revamping its annual St. Patrick’s Day 5K into the Rainier & Rally 5K. The running event will start at the new Rainier Foot & Ankle building (1145 Cole Street) and go down Railroad Street and Battersby until reaching the dog park and turning around. There are prizes for the first three fastest racers for both ages 16 and up and 15 and below. If you don’t want to run, you can enjoy the radio D.J.s from MOViN 92.5, the food trucks and beer garden, and various cosplayers from the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire. There will be kids activities as well, like face painting and the kiddie dash, which will begin before the race. Tickets to the 5K are $45; kids under 11 can run for free. • AEBLESKIVER BREAKFAST: The local Danish Sisterhood’s annual Aebleskiver Breakfast is being hosted at Danish Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The breakfast consists of the traditional Danish pancakes (the Aebleskivers), sausage, applesauce and beverages. There will also be a bake sale. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 fir children. Money raised helps maintain the historic Danish Hall.

April 29

• BABY ANIMALS AND BLOOMS: Maris Farms’ annual Baby Animals and Blooms Days returns on Saturdays and Sundays from April 29 to May 14. Head to the Buckley farm to shop at the artisan market, pet baby animals, frolic through the tulip field, and enjoy the farm’s year-round activities like wagon rides, the mega slide, the jump pillow, and more. Activities run from 10 a.n. to 5 p.m., though a “Morning Glow” photography session is offered at 9 a.m. Tickets are $16 for kids 3 to 12, and $18 for general admission. Tickets can only be bought online at marisfarms.com.

RECURRING EVENTS

Brewskis with a Newsie: Come meet your local journalists on every first Wednesday of each month at Cole Street Brewery (1627 Cole Street, Enumclaw) from 5 to 6 p.m. This is an informal event where residents can pitch stories, fact-check articles, and talk shop. Plateau Scottish Dancing: The Plateau Scottish Country Dancers are inviting new members to come join the fun. The group currently meets every Monday night from 7 to 9 p.m. Classes are at the Danish Hall, 1708 Porter St.,Enumclaw. Cost is $5 per person and no partner is required. Dances are taught at each class and range from easy to moderate. All are welcome from beginners to experienced dancers. Because dancing involves close personal contact, up-to-date COVID vaccines are required. Currently, masking is encouraged but not required. Free county services: The King County Department of Local Services holds office hours every Thursday at the Enumclaw Library (1700 1st Street) from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. Locals can get free notary service, support with building permits or pet license applications, and general information about county services. WIBIT Night: The Enumclaw Aquatic Center hosts WIBIT Night every first Saturday of the month, and features large, inflatable pool obstacle courses. Call 360-815-1188 to reserve your spot. Tickets for reservations are $7.75 an hour; drop-ins are $9 an hour.
