Robert Jesse (Bob) DeLong passed away on June 6, 2023 at Valley Medical Center in Renton, WA. He was 93. A longtime resident of Enumclaw, WA, Bob was born December 2, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI where he graduated from South High School in 1947 and G.R. Junior College in 1949. He then attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids.

An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. With his dog, Pointing Gabby, he entered field trials and won two National Championships. Blessed with a beautiful tenor voice, he was cast in some 45 community theater productions — musicals and dramas — often in leading roles. Bob was active for many years at Trinity Lutheran Church in Enumclaw where he sang in the choir and served on the Church Council.

Bob is remembered with great affection by his wife of 53 years, Lou Ann DeLong of Enumclaw, and by his children, Ellen DeLong Douglass, Bonney DeLong Cotty, Valery DeLong, Kimberly DeLong Lind, Melody DeLong Soucy, Brian Harshbarger, Rhonda Harshbarger Reagan and Risa Harshbarger Noeske.

Also surviving are Bob’s sister, Frances DeLong; nephew, Edward Massey; nine grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. A memorial service was held Thursday, June 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Enumclaw. Interment of ashes will take place at Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, Indiana.
